The athletic training room is designed to allow athletic trainers to evaluate students who may have suffered an injury or have a general question about sports medicine. The athletic training room is equipped with observation tables, first aid supplies and a cold whirlpool. The schedule for the athletic training room shows the times when it is available for open clinic hours.
The training room can serve as a center for students who have suffered an injury that may require rehabilitation to a muscle group. It can also be a place where athletic trainers can process information to follow-up with students who suffer an injury at the Recreation and Wellness Center to ensure they have recovered from that injury.
Athletic Training is the prevention, evaluation, treatment, management and rehabilitation of athletic related injuries and illnesses by an AMA (American Medical Association) certified health care professional. The Recreation and Wellness Center offers free athletic training to students.
Participation in Recreation and Wellness Center programs is completely voluntary. Individuals participate at their own risk and assume responsibility for their own health and safety. The University of Central Florida and the Recreation and Wellness Center are not liable for injuries sustained during participation in a Recreation and Wellness Center sponsored activity. It is strongly recommended that all participants consult a physician and/or have a physical exam prior to participation. The University of Central Florida does not provide personal accident/health insurance. Therefore, participants are urged to secure their own insurance. You may suffer physical and/or mental injury from participating in these activities.
