The Recreation and Wellness Center has two pools: a leisure pool and an outdoor lap pool. The Aquatics program offers swim lessons, lifeguard tryouts, and SCUBA certifications.
The lap pool consists of nine lanes, ranging from a shallow area to 10ft in depth. The lap pool is heated and can host swim meets and men's and women's water polo. In conjunction with Outdoor Adventure, SCUBA lessons are taught lap pool. Experienced swimmers may take advantage of our diving blocks.
The leisure pool is open February to November and is located east of the Recreation and Wellness Center. The pool offers different activities such as water volleyball, water basketball, or an opportunity to lay and enjoy the Florida sun.
The lifeguards at the RWC are all Certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid. Lifeguard classes are taught by the Lifeguard Instructor Staff in house in summer, fall and spring of each school year.
Swimming is an excellent form of a total body workout. We strive to help all UCF students acquire the skill of swimming through our swim class program. Whether you are a beginner that has never swam or wanting to just improve your swimming strokes for your first triathlon our classes are for you.
