Fitness
The RWC Fitness Program is comprised of six areas: Assisted Workout, Assessment, Fitness Orientation, Group Exercise, Personal Training, and Fitness Programs. All of these areas are designed to help UCF students achieve their fitness goals.
The Assisted Workout Program is designed to support students with disabilities in creating and maintaining an exercise plan. The Assessment Program is offered to assess one’s physical condition via a fitness assessment in addition to their overall wellness through a lifestyle screening process. The Fitness Orientation Program includes a single session conducted by a Fitness Attendant that allows members to become familiar with the fitness equipment available in the RWC. The Group Exercise Program includes over 100 group classes offered on a weekly basis. Our Personal Training Program is operated by nationally certified personal trainers who design an individualized fitness plan according to established personal goals and aspirations. Lastly, our Fitness Programs staff organizes a variety of special events and programs.
Program Components
Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation
The RWC values the provision of quality programs and services that are accessible to the UCF community. We are continuously searching for new equipment and developing recreational programs that create an inclusive environment.
Fitness Assessments
The RWC Assessment Program is designed to offer easily accessible fitness assessments and lifestyle screenings to the UCF student body and members of the Recreation and Wellness Center.
Fitness Orientations
A fitness orientation is a scheduled 60 min. appointment with a fitness attendant that gives you the opportunity to tour the facility, and learn about exercise machines and free weights. When signing up, you will fill out information about your individual fitness needs, so that your session will be designed specifically for you. Fitness Orientations are FREE to students and members of the RWC.
Group Exercise
The Group Exercise Program offers a wide variety of fitness classes conducted by nationally certified instructors. Various formats offered include but are not limited to: resistance training, mind/body, cardiovascular endurance, plyometrics, and spinning.
Personal Training
Personal Training is available to all students and faculty at UCF. Sessions are 60 minutes long and the initial consultation is FREE. All of our trainers are certified by the following organizations: ACE, AFAA, NASM, NSCA, CSCS and ACSM.
