Recreation and Wellness Center

General: To provide supervision and safety training for all climbing tower users through customer service excellence. The major focus of this position includes risk management, belay skill competency and instruction, and climbing knowledge and proficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for physical and emotional safety of participants.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures for the Recreation and Wellness Center are enforced.
  • Execute emergency action procedures when necessary.
  • Assist members and guests with basic knowledge of the climbing tower.
  • Perform all duties in a courteous, prompt, and professional manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication to patrons.
  • Commitment to RWC and Climbing Tower mission.
  • Focus on keeping work area clean and safe.
  • Assist in resetting routes and cleaning tower when necessary.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


  • Must be RWC Climbing Tower belay certified.
  • Possess effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Possess a passion for working with others and being a team player.
  • Be able to work weekends, weeknights, and weekday afternoons.
  • Be willing to educate, model, and monitor policies.
  • Be comfortable with stretching out of your comfort zone.
  • Be understanding and sensitive to working with diverse populations.
  • Must obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Previous climbing tower experience is preferred.
