Fitness Supervisor


Primary Function

The Fitness Supervisor will serve as an active manager on duty for the Fitness staff for the Recreation and Wellness Center

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform all responsibilities of the Fitness Attendant position while serving as shift leader.
  • Actively manage the performance and operations of Fitness Attendants while on shift, including floor circulation.
  • Communicate effectively with Fitness Leads, Fitness GA, Fitness Coordinator, and Assistant Director.
  • Conduct hourly counts and manage lockers.
  • Ensure that Fitness Attendants are enforcing weight floor policies and assigned cleaning on shift.
  • Assist Fitness GA in conducting CPR/AED audits as well as other risk management initiatives.
  • Conduct inspection of fitness areas and properly document any issues.
  • Take the lead in building evacuation situations and delegate responsibilities to Fitness Attendants on shift.
  • Serve as the liaison between the Building Manager and Fitness Attendants on shift.
  • Contribute to semester evaluations for all Fitness Attendant employees.
  • Communicates effectively with fitness leads, graduate assistants, and professional staff members.

Requirements

  • Complete a minimum of one semester as an RWC Fitness Attendant.
  • Must maintain current American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage and supervise student employees.
  • Team oriented ideals, willingness to work hard, and a desire to learn is important in this position.
  • Possess team oriented ideals, willingness to work hard, and a drive to work independently.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workout environment.
  • Act in a professional manner and respect participants at all times.
  • Demonstrate strong performance as a Fitness Attendant for a minimum of one semester.
  • Must hold/maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.
