The UCF Outdoor Adventure is creating an opportunity for team development in our new normal Posted Friday, June 19, 2020 @ 9:38 AM Orlando (June 19, 2020) – RWC’s OA continues to be a multifaceted resource for the UCF community during these unprecedented times. Knights can look forward to more engaging online content as the UCF Outdoor Adventure team continues to offer student well-being, environmental education, and social connection opportunities virtually Katherine Rocco, Assistant Director of RWC’s Outdoor Adventure, said they have focused recent programming efforts on sharing resources and content from BIPOC in the outdoors and hope to continue to build a resource guide for followers. In addition, Outdoor Adventure is offering guidance and information about local Florida trails and the benefits of hiking, which include improved mental and physical health. “We are helping students find local places to get outside, refocus, and take a deep breath,” Rocco said. RWC’s OA staff continues to offer virtual teambuilding programs and you can get in on all the fun! Pre-COVID19, OA offered team development programs on the low and high elements of the UCF Challenge Course (located off Central Florida Blvd near the Burnett House). But the pandemic created an opportunity for the team to offer these valuable resources online, serving UCF registered student organizations (RSO’s), staff, faculty, and off-campus groups. Virtual teambuilding programs “create opportunities for groups to relax a little bit, express themselves in an authentic way, and hopefully make some connections,” said Rocco. Outdoor Adventure is currently accepting reservation requests for virtual programming from all UCF RSOs, faculty, and staff – especially those who are looking for a way to reconnect with their group or starting the group development process.
