The lifeguards at the RWC are all Certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid. Lifeguard classes are taught by the Lifeguard Instructor Staff in house in summer, fall and spring of each school year.
The pre-requisites to entering the lifeguard classes consist of timed brick retrieval, 300 yard swim and a two minute water tread. Once the pre-test is passed, lifeguard candidates will be required to attend 25 hours of hands on and classroom instruction. After completing the class, lifeguard candidates will receive their certifications for two years. Sign up in the administration office at the RWC. The classes are only $75 and are first come first served, no refunds.
The final certification class for the 2018-2019 school year is June 14-16, 2019. The certification class is full. The next certifications will be in September 2019 (dates to be announced). For more information contact Aquatics Coordinator Lisa Molloy at email@example.com.
