Primary Function

Primary Function

Challenge Course Facilitators work to guide groups of individuals through activities and games in order to build teamwork, trust, and communication skills through a unique and exciting experience. Facilitators will help each group reach their individual goals through challenging activities that require teamwork, puzzles and thought-provoking games, and intentional guided conversations that allow participants to reflect on the meaning of their experience.

These programs will be facilitated in a high-ropes, low ropes, virtual, or mixed, setting depending on the preference of the group, and participants will be learning under the “Experiential Learning Cycle” and “Choose your Challenge” philosophies, which describe the way in which learning takes place and allows participants to decide their own level of engagement based on comfort level.

Primary Function

Group Exercise Instructors are primarily responsible for conducting effective group fitness classes, educating patrons on basic fitness knowledge and maintaining a safe and enjoyable workout environment for class participants.

  • Prepare appropriate warm-up, exercises, stretching, and cool down techniques for the specific class format being taught.

Primary Function

To ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all members of the Recreation and Wellness Center engaging in pool use.

Primary Function

Manage all aspects of the Recreation and Wellness Center operations during open hours. Supervise on-duty student associates and all activities in the Recreation and Wellness Center.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Represent the professional staff in their absence and in so doing, operate with the full authority of a full time staff member or the Lead Building Manager.
  • Become familiar enough with all areas in the facility to be able to fill any position if needed.
  • Complete visual inspections of facilities and equipment and reporting procedures.
  • Take immediate corrective action when appropriate.
  • Regulate the posting of materials in hall, bulletin board, etc.
  • Make continuous safety audits of facility, equipment and personnel.

  • Give special attention to needs such as interior/exterior lighting problems, dressing rooms and lockers, emergency exits/stairwells, plumbing and or electrical problems.
  • Submit a Building Manager Report with hourly counts after each shift. Execute opening and closing procedures for the facility, including but not limited to reporting any security, maintenance or Physical Plant issues to the proper office.

Primary Function

Fitness Attendants are primarily responsible for providing a clean, safe and helpful workout environment for the users of the Recreation and Wellness Center, as well as provide assistance to those working out. Additionally, Fitness Attendants will be responsible for cleaning assigned areas and assisting with Fitness Orientations when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe workout environment through constant circulation of the floor.

The Fitness Supervisor will serve as an active manager on duty for the Fitness staff for the Recreation and Wellness Center as well as the RWC at Knight’s Plaza facilities.

  • Actively manage the performance and operations of Fitness Attendants while on shift, including floor circulation.

Primary Function

The Sport Club Supervisor provides direction and support for club officers and members by serving as a liaison between sport clubs and the Sport Club Coordinator. They will be responsible for supervising and managing games/events as well as maintaining regular communication with club officers. Manages critical incidents as necessary and performs special duties as assigned. Sport Club Supervisors should have flexible evening and weekend hours.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all policies and procedures for the University of Central Florida and Recreation and Wellness Center enforced.
  • Assist sport clubs with event planning which includes:
  • Reserving facilities & necessary equipment.
  • Communicating with facility staff.
  • Ensuring all parties involve are aware of policies & procedures.
  • Oversee sport club events which include:
    • Field and site setup/cleanup.
    • Hospitality management for visiting teams.
    • Player/fan check-in and control.
  • Assist athletic trainer with injuries.
  • Hold weekly office hours.
  • Maintain contact with clubs to ensure successful event management.
  • Process and manage travel paperwork for assigned clubs.
  • Assigned specialization in area of interest (i.e. marketing, technology, etc.).
  • Serve as a liaison between clubs and Coordinator and aid in paperwork administration.
  • Educate officers on policies and procedures.
  • Providing supervision and executing emergency procedures when necessary.
  • Adhere to risk management guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Sport Club Coordinator.
  • Attend monthly Sport Club Council Meetings.

Requirements

  • Current American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certifications or must obtain within thirty days of employment and familiarity with emergency procedures.
  • Possess effective communication skills and organizational skills.
  • Experience in providing positive customer service.
  • Awareness of the student and sport club needs.
  • Obtain and maintain American Red Cross CPR, AED and First Aid certifications.
  • Continued participation in appropriate in-service and training sessions.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Awareness of safety concerns and risk management.

The Marketing Assistant reports directly to the Marketing Lead and assists with general marketing and promotion of RWC programs and facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Marketing Lead in all assigned tasks.
  • Aid in implementing marketing plans for each program area.
  • Create and update RWC program/facility information including: internal and external bulletin boards, posters, signs, fliers and other advertising outlets.
  • Assist in providing information to prospective and current students through personal interaction.
  • Attend special events (taking photos, writing event summaries, presenting awards and promotion through giveaways received).
  • Fulfill sponsorship obligations, including obtaining new sponsors and maintaining current sponsorships.
  • Use of digital photography as needed
  • Maintain and update RWC stock photo archive.
  • Maintain current RWC social media network.
  • Assist in website content review.
  • Research, maintain and implement current marketing trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
  • Other duties as assigned
