The RWC will be closed for winter break starting on December 19, 2024. The facilities will reopen on January 2, 2025, operating on break hours. For more information on our hours, click here.
The lifeguards at the RWC are all Certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid. Lifeguard classes are taught by the Lifeguard Instructor Staff in house in summer, fall and spring of each school year.
The pre-requisites to entering the lifeguard classes consist of timed brick retrieval, 300 yard swim and a two minute water tread. Once the pre-test is passed, lifeguard candidates will be required to attend 25 hours of hands on and classroom instruction. After completing the class, lifeguard candidates will receive their certifications for two years. Sign up in the administration office at the RWC. The classes are only $150 for students, $200 for members, $250 for public members and are first come first served, no refunds.
