From Chowchilla, Ca, Michelle Fitzgerald begins work at RWC in August 2013. Previous education includes Southeast Missouri State University; M.A. in Public Administration with an emphasis in Leisure Services: Mississippi State University with a B.A. in English. Michelle has over 10 years’ experience in the community parks and recreation field having served as a recreation professional for three city agencies. She is a Certified Pool Operator, recently completed her lifeguard certification and has been a member of the National Parks and Recreation Association for over seven years. Some fun facts about Michelle, she played third base on her college softball team, was a member of the USA National Softball Team and in 2000 played professional softball for the Ohio Pride. Michelle and her family recently moved from California to Florida in April 2013.

From Virginia Beach, Va, Troy Morris begin working at RWC June 2013. Previous education includes Austin Peay State University; M.S. in Sport and Wellness Leadership: B.S. in Exercise Science. Troy has over 15 years of experience in the athletic and fitness industry working with diverse populations. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Certified though the USA Olympic Weightlifting Association as a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach, a USA Track and Field Level 1 Coach and a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Tennessee. Some fun facts about Troy, he served in the United States Army and was a 100 and 200 meter sprinter for track and field.

From Spring Lake, Michigan, Nathan Vink has been the Outdoor Adventure Assistant Director since January 2014. from 2012-2014 he was the Outdoor Adventure Coordinator. Previous education includes Butler University; B.A. in Journalism; currently pursuing a M.A. in Educational Leadership (UCF). Nathan has over 10 years of experience leading outdoor and experiential education programs for such schools as Outward Bound and The Four Corners School. He is a Wilderness First Responder, PCIA Climbing Wall Instructor, a certified Whitewater River Guide and Swift Water Rescue Technician. A fun fact about Nathan Vink is he is passionate about canyoneering.

Originally from Colorado Springs, CO. I began working as the AT/RM coordinator in 2011. My previous education includes a BA in Physical Education from the University of Northern Colorado, a BS in Athletic Training from UCF, and a MA in Applied Exercise Physiology from UCF. I am a certified and licensed athletic trainer. I am also a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Fun fact: Currently working on achieving my goal of running a half or full marathon in every state.

The passion for sports runs deep with Pam as she played collegiate soccer and has run numerous half and full marathons. Andrea hails from Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she received a degree from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in Video Production. To continue her thirst for learning, Andrea moved to Daytona Beach and received her Bachelor’s degree in Supervision and Management from Daytona State. She began her career in Recreation with the Aquatics area and is a Lifeguard Instructor and a Certified Pool Operator. Andrea loves Higher Education and Recreation because each day is new and fun. A fact about Andrea is that she plays semi-professional women’s tackle football and is a 4-time All-Star Offensive Lineman.

Valerie is a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor through the American Council on Exercise and Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. Other certifications include American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard, TRX, MadDogg Spinning, and more. Some fun facts about Valerie, she got into fitness through her favorite sport, swimming, and during the weekends you can find her outside with her dog, Rocky!

Kari is originally from Rochester, MN. She graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, IA in December 2012 with a degree in Marketing and Management. Kari worked for the Drake intramural program throughout her undergrad and completed an internship with the program. Kari is one of two Intramural Graduate Assistants for UCF and will be getting her master's degree in Educational Leadership. Kari has a basset hound/lab mix dog, has never found a sport she didn't enjoy playing and loves to travel.

Michael Taylor

Michael is from Jacksonville, Florida and is in his second year as one of the Athletic Training Graduate Assistants at the RWC. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training from UCF in the spring of 2012 and is currently seeking a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology in May of 2014. His favorite sports teams are the Philly Eagles and the MIAMI HEAT! Michael is very happy to be working as a pivotal part of the risk management team as well as the entire RWC staff.
