The administrative office is the general hub of the different programs offered through the Recreation and Wellness Center. The office is located on the second floor of the Recreation and Wellness Center and is open Monday through Friday.

The front office staff can also help students and members answer general questions regarding daily passes, lockers, RWC programs, services, and more.
The athletic training room is designed to allow athletic trainers to evaluate students who may have suffered an injury or have a general question about sports medicine. The athletic training room is equipped with observation tables, first aid supplies, and a cold whirlpool. The schedule for the athletic training room shows the times when it is available for open clinic hours.
The training room can serve as a center for students who have suffered an injury that may require rehabilitation to a muscle group. It can also be a place where athletic trainers can process information to follow-up with students who suffer an injury at the Recreation and Wellness Center to ensure they have recovered from that injury.
The RWC building has a 9,300 square foot cardio floor equipped with a variety of machines including: recumbent and upright bikes, treadmills, rowing machines, total body ellipticals, lower body ellipticals, steppers, and arc trainers. As well as offering Adaptive and Inclusive equipment such as hand bikes to accommodate all student’s needs.
Housed within the RWC, the Climbing Tower offers premier indoor climbing for students at UCF. Standing at 41 feet, the tower is comprised of over 20 top-rope routes in a wide range of difficulty levels, making it a great place for beginners as well as avid climbers. Bouldering routes are also available for those interested in climbing low to the ground.
You do not need to be belay certified to climb at the Tower. To complete a belay certification, patrons must first complete a belay class. After demonstrating competency in safety and skills, patrons can complete a belay test. You must be belay certified to belay others at the Climbing Tower.

The Adaptive Climbing Program has been created to assist students with different abilities to experience the joys and benefits of climbing. Our goal is to empower every participant that visits the climbing tower to reach their potential. Whether you are a complete beginner or experienced climber we gladly welcome your participation.
Our new Functional Training Area offers a 19ft x 50ft turf space. Whether it’s flipping tires, doing body-weight cardio, or even stretching, the functional training space will have something for everyone. ESCAPE Fitness has designed a 3-bay rig system for the Functional Training Area which holds equipment like: Dumbbells, kettlebells, core bags, sandbags, TRX straps, a punching bag, an integrated rope-pull system, and more. Separate from the stock frames, we will have tires (for tire flipping), boxes (for callisthenic work), and sleds (for cardio/strength training).
Location: The Functional Training Area is located on the second floor of the RWC near the terrace.
The group exercise studios host the more than 90 classes offered weekly at the Recreation and Wellness Center. Most of the classes ranging Kickboxing, and Bootcamp to Zumba meet in the main group exercise studio and our exciting class, F45, meets multipurpose room or F45 Studio, while our Cycle studio hosts our Cycle classes.

Mind-body classes such as Yoga take place at RWC @ Knights Plaza on the north end of campus.
We also offer dozens of classes at our brand new facility, RWC @ Downtown, at the downtown campus on the second floor of the Union West building.
The main group exercise room is over 3,000 sq. ft. and hosts the majority of the group exercise classes. People can enjoy classes such as yoga, body sculpting and Zumba in this 3-sided mirror studio. This room is located on the first floor of the Recreation and Wellness Center by the multipurpose courts.
The F45 Studio is more than 2,000 sq. ft. and is equipped with the latest technology including full audio, and a half-dozen video monitors to assist students during this functional training workout. The studio is located on the second floor past the cardio equipment, across the hall from the terrace.
The Cycle studio is about 1,400 sq. ft. and is the room designated for Cycle classes. The studio is located on the first floor near the climbing tower.
The MAC (Multipurpose Activity Courts) Gym is an area that has two courts enclosed with rounded walls. The walls are rounded to allow for different activities such as floor hockey and indoor soccer. The schedule for the MAC gym shows the times designated for the different activities.
In addition to being an athletic venue, this space turns into a venue that can host formal events such as the Recreation and Wellness Center banquet.
The MAC gym is a little under 13,000 sq. ft. with an observation area located directly above it. It is equipped with speakers that can provide music as well as have PA announcing capabilities. This space is located on the first floor behind the racquetball courts.

The Recreation and Wellness Center has four indoor, multipurpose courts. During Open Rec/Freeplay hours the courts can be used for basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and badminton. The schedule for the multipurpose courts shows the times designated for the different activities.

There are four racquetball courts that are located on the first floor of the Recreation and Wellness Center near the free weights area. Courts can be reserved by members and students as early as one day in advance by calling the RWC. When not reserved the courts are on a first-come-first-serve basis. Racquets, racquetballs, and goggles are available for checkout at the member services desk.
The weight floor which is split into two areas provides approximately 14,000 sq. ft. of space for guests to work any muscle group. The first area of the weight floor is mostly machine-based, while the second area is predominantly free weights. Both areas are located on the first floor of the Recreation and Wellness Center.
The wet classroom is used in a wide range of ways. First aid and CPR classes are mostly taught in the space as well as serving as a classroom for lifeguard in-services and SCUBA classes. The wet classroom is located at the end of the hall past the racquetball courts of the Recreation and Wellness Center.
The Disc Golf Course is an 18-hole course that is located within RWC Park and is available for the UCF Community. The course is open during daylight hours each day of the week.
UCF Students and members of the Recreation and Wellness Center can checkout disc golf discs at the RWC Park during operating hours.

The Lap Pool which is located on the first floor of the Recreation and Wellness Center provides nine lanes of lap swimming. In addition to lap swimming, the lap pool serves as a venue for other programs such as swim lessons, SCUBA certifications, and sport club practices.
The Lap Pool has a lift for students with disabilities that is accessible for students in wheelchairs.
Related Functions
The lifeguards at the RWC are all certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid for the Professional Rescuer. Lifeguard classes are taught by the Lifeguard Instructor staff in house in once per summer, fall and spring semester of each school year.
Swimming is an excellent form of a total body workout. We strive to help all UCF students acquire the skill of swimming through our swim class program. Whether you are a beginner that has never swam or wanting to just improve your swimming strokes for your first triathlon our classes are for you.
The Leisure Pool is located on the east side of the Recreation and Wellness Center. It has 186,000 gallons of water and is a zero-entry pool to 5 feet deep.
A wheelchair designed specifically for the pool is available for use upon request.

Three (3) lighted outdoor basketball courts located behind the Recreation and Wellness Center are open to the UCF community.
Members of the Recreation and Wellness Center can checkout outdoor basketball at the member services desk in the RWC. Outdoor lockers are available at the courts for personal belongings.
The RWC has four (4) pickleball courts, located next to the Leisure Pool and tennis courts. They are open during normal and break hours for the main RWC building. The pickleball courts are open for free usage to the UCF community, the external community may reserve for a rate.
The RWC Park features 6 artificial turf lighted fields, grass fields, and a baseball/softball field. Located on the south end of campus, the RWC Park allows playing fields for outdoor activities ranging from open rec flag football to organized rugby events.

The RWC has six (6) sand volleyball courts; four located between the leisure pool and the tennis courts while the remaining two courts are located at Lake Claire. The courts are available from dawn until 10:00pm.
The eight (8) tennis courts are located next to the Leisure Pool and are open during normal and break hours for the main RWC building. In addition to being open to the UCF community, the tennis courts host the College of Education classes, intramural tennis ladder, sport club practices and are home to the UCF tennis team. The United States Tennis Association (USTA) partners with the RWC throughout the year to help support programs and services.
The William E. and Mary Jo Davis Recreation Area at Lake Claire, located at the end of Greek Park Drive, offers an adventure for all types. Lake Claire is the only natural body of water on campus and has a maximum depth of 12 feet.

The UCF Recreation and Wellness Center is one of the nation’s leading campus recreation departments for creating space for students of all abilities to play, work out and compete against each other. The Lake Claire Recreation Area has its own adaptive kayak and an accessible dock. Our staff is trained and excited to help get as many students on the water and they love to share their passion for paddlesports.
